Kansas City is absolutely oozing with local vendors that make Kansas City such an amazing city. I absolutely love uncovering these vendors, learning more about them and supporting them.
A couple years ago I discovered Carly Rae Studio, although I can’t recall quite how I found her. I love Carly’s watercolors and her bright and whimsical style. I had the pleasure of sitting down for tea with Carly recently. She is also a KC transplant of 3 years, and has found the same deep love for the city that I have.
I asked Carly what she loved so much about Kansas City and she said that there is so much, but one of her favorite things is all the different neighborhoods and the different parts of KC that are distinctly their own. Visitors to KC always seem surprised by the artistic scene that KC has, and Carly said being able to grow her business here and have so much support locally is a testament to that.
My husband and I are working on purchasing our first home together, and I cannot wait to fill it up with pieces from KC artists. If you prefer to do your own artwork, Carly also hosts workshops where you can create your own painting!
You can find Carly at events around town such as the Holiday Mart and Strawberry Swing and at pop up shops at places such as West Elm and Dolce Bakery. Or just head on over to her website to start shopping! I have many pregnant friends right now and can’t wait to purchase some of these for the nurseries!
