On the Sixth Day of Christmas…

On the sixth day of Christmas Santa brought me to…

Phoenix Family.

Slowly making my way through writing these! I have loved getting out and helping in the community and learning of different organizations, it’s just hard to find the time to sit down and write about each one!

I was excited to volunteer for Phoenix Family, as I am familiar with them from my time at Sky Zone and I know they are an amazing organization. Phoenix Family serves children, families and seniors throughout the KC metro area. They work on site at 34 different communities, both multi family and senior communities.

On this particular day I went to Marlborough Manor Senior Center to help Ms. Pam serve a Christmas dinner to the residents. Ms. Pam is high energy, loving, organized and caring and the residents marlborough-700x460clearly have a lot of love for her. I spent the afternoon serving and laughing with the residents. While these residents might not have a lot of possessions, they are full of love and stories that made my day brighter.

The goal of Phoenix Family for their senior living centers is to help keep the residents living independently as long as they can. They will help them with food and clothing pantries, filling out insurance forms, manage money and not falling for scams among other services. They are always looking for volunteers to help with their monthly mobile pantries at each site.

If you are more interested in volunteering for the youth, they are always looking for 1 on 1 reading coaches to help on site at their multi family sites. This is a fantastic way to make a huge difference in a child’s world.

Please visit their website to learn more. Phoenix Family is definitely an organization that I will be working with in the future!
